The Fiction Desk

I was thrilled to find out, yesterday, that my story, Loss Angina, was one of the winners of The Fiction Desk’s flash fiction competition. I’ve long maintained that my stories aren’t the sort that tend to do well in comps (I’ve only ever entered one or two) so that was a pleasant surprise. Big congrats to the overall winner, Jo Gatford.

And, following on from yesterday’s post, here’s a snippet from Dan Powell’s Looking Out of Broken Windows.

  1. Congratulations, Nik – deceptively simple title, one that snudges into my brain and makes me wonder.
