Sharing a Story

I’ve just been critting a short story on an online forum and it reminded me (in a non nicked way of course!) of one of the stories that’s stuck with me ever since I read it, which was years ago. Some great ones are like that.

It’s Lamb to the Slaughter, by Roald Dahl, and I just love it for its cleverness and wit.
And while I’m talking about short stories, the new edition of omni-excellent The Short Review’s live. Go see.

I’ve been watching ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ and saw Lamb to Slaughter on it. The screen adaption is almost as good as the written word.

Hey Caroline, lovely to see you over here. Oh I’d love to see it on the telly! I’m all jealous now.Aliya, The Lodger is terrific, isn’t it? Very creepy. It’s funny but I do forget what a wonderful short story writer Mr Dahl was. It’s only when I’m reminded that I remember. If that makes sense.Nik

How funny, I was just talking about this story recently. It is so memorable, and I think Roald Dahl’s stories were probably the first short stories I ever read, so he has a lot to answer for!PS Thanks for the Short Review plug 🙂
