A Long List

Well, hasn’t it been hot? I hope you’ve all been enjoying this must unseasonal appearance of the sun.

And while it’s been doing its thing, I’ve been in my office cooking/working – the results of which I hope to be able to share with you all soon.

Until then, you can have a look at my website (if you want to!) – I’ve been having a bit of a tinker with it and the most noticeable change is to the ‘Being Interviewed And Reviewed’ page, where I’ve listed every review of Not So Perfect and every interview I’ve done about it.

I must admit that I was pretty surprised there were so many reviews and interviews and I can’t thank everyone enough for all of their support with Not So Perfect, especially as most weren’t asked. It is hugely appreciated. Thank you. I am utterly thrilled people are liking it.

Round Up

Blimey last week was a long one. And it had it all I think – fab acceptances, brilliant editors (see below) disappointing rejections, one of my favourite stories going live at a place I really love, and so on.

And discovering that I’ve a medical appointment next week which makes it impossible for me to read at Sparks in Brighton. I had been looking forward to that very much, and to meeting up with some lovely people while I was down there. But, as I’m trying to be sensible, my health  has to come first. I sincerely hope that I’ll have another opportunity to read there. (Incidentally, it was another medical appointment last week which stopped doing something else I’d been really looking forward to doing. I guess it’ll all make sense in the grand scheme of things.)

On a more positive note, I spent a good chunk of yesterday fiddling with my website. It has had a face lift. I reckon it looks okay. (It does, doesn’t it?)
***
I really enjoyed reading Miriam Drori’s thoughts on writing and place, a follow up to what I’d written on that same subject on Tania Hershman’s blog a little while ago.
***
And I notice that there are a few familiar names there on the Manchester Blog Awards shortlist. Congrats to all involved.
And I think that’s about all for now. Enjoy your Sundays, everyone.

[ADDED…]
I’m planning to give the money raised by the sale of the 20 Photos & 20 Stories book (scroll to the bottom of the page) to the Alzheimer’s Society at some point over the next couple of weeks, so if any one would like to buy a copy (£15 inc p&p) then now would be a great time to do it.

My friends went to Cyprus and all they got me was…

this lovely little magnetic crab (currently attached to the cabinet which is the side of my desk). Thanks G ‘n’ R.

Cover the Mirrors by Faye L. Booth has been released. Looking forward to receiving my copy. (I was supposed to be attending the launch in Preston on Friday but ended up being unable to get there. I really hope it went splendidly.)

And this is horribly and wonderfully addictive.

I’m also secretly and slowly working on a new website, after pretty much all attempts to update and then delete my old one have failed (sigh, grumble). If anyone has any thoughts my ears are always open.
