A New Beginning

At some point a couple of weeks ago my blog turned five years old. If it was a child, it would have teeth, be able to write, go to school and be better at video games than me. Yes, it’s old. And I honestly don’t know where the time’s gone.

What I do know is that, over those five years, an awful lot has changed. I started the blog when my first book came out and originally planned to stop it once the promotion for that book had ended. Somehow, I didn’t. Somehow it got bigger, grew. Got me hooked. Got readers! And I must say I’m proud of what I’ve done, and done with it, over the years. There are loads of interviews with brilliant people, reviews, recommendations, burblings, writing advice and my thoughts on being a writer. Even the occasional moan and personal post. Yes, I’m happy with it – even with the occasional moan.

But the time has come for a change. A new start. A new home. And this is it (nikperring.com). Thanks, so much, to everyone who’s been with me over the years. I wouldn’t have continued without you. Now, if there’s anything you’d like to see more of here, please let me know. I hope you’ll stick around for a little while yet.

Looks absolutely great on iPad, Nick…in both the “page flipping” and standard formats. On to the next five years…

Yay for new homes! Hope you’ve got some choice wines to crack open for the housewarming? (And by choice, I mean Tesco’s Finest.)

Thanks Neil. Why did I leave Blogger? Mostly, it was just time for a change. But it had been getting on my nerves a lot of late – a lot of people using IE were finding it was crashing their whole computer, the blog roll wasn’t updating — niggly things like that. Here’s hoping WordPress it more efficient…
