I’ve just read a terrific post by Jenn who, as I’ve mentioned before, is one of my favourite writers.
In it she says, “I like to write about odd things happening and try to make them realistic.” which, in my opinion, has hit the fiction writing nail squarely on the head.
For the whole post, go here.
(I also like very much that I’m listed as a ‘fibbing friend’ – marvellous.)

I’ve been wondering today about sprucing up the blog – any suggestions?
thank you for the plug/ling (plink?)As for sprucing: what about some colours? I keep wanting to change my template but I’m not good enough at computer jiggery pokery to do it, yet…Or you could do more vids. And pictures. I like your pictures. And some crazy fonts.
I like pictures – so more pictures. But I prefer things fairly plain myself.(Plink is a good word).
Thanks you two!I have added two pics to the right hand side – any better? What sort of pics/vids do you like? I’m all ears.Oh, love ‘plink’ too.Nik
Good pictures. Like those. Also, pictures of your desk. I like those. And more pictures of tatty first drafts and post-it notes and fountain pens.
Cool. I’m on it. Ta Jenn.Nik
Yes, desk pictures are always interesting.Last week I went to the home of a cyber-friend, and I got her to show me her computer so I can picture her emailing to me.And anything about the details of the glamorous/unglamorous life of an actual published author would be good.
I’ll bet that, seeing where you’d been emailed from, was exciting; just the kind of thing I’d do!I shall post more desk/office pictures then. The life of a published author is probably no more or less glam than anyone else’s, unless they’re rock stars, or Very Famous Authors or suchlike. I don’t think I lead a glamorous life at all, sadly.
