Excellent News

The brilliantly fantastic “Chips, Beans and Limousines: The Fantastic Diary of Bathsheba Clarice De Trop!” by the equally brilliantly fantastic Leila Rasheed is now available for pre-order on amazon.

I’m still typing up my story from the other week. The word count at the base of my screen is saying almost 16700 and according to my calculations I’ve still got 2 – 2500 handwritten words left to type. All this is good as it means that I’m on target for around 20k. Looking forward to getting it finished and getting stuck in to the editing.

And here’s what things are looking like this side of the screen:

Wish I could enlarge that picture and decipher your writing, I’d love to see what your new story’s about.Leila’s book looks fun.

You’d have to be able to read my handwriting first! And that, even for me, can be rather tricky at times!Leila’s book is one of the best I’ve read over the past couple of years. I absolutely loved it. WELL worth a look. Thanks again for stopping by!Nik

Hi NikLove the title of Leila’s book! Glad the writing’s coming along. Out of curiosity do you always handwrite first? I used to but these days I’m a keyboard jockey! JBP.S These word verification things keep giving me weird ideas for character names. Just got ‘Oxjeba’ which sounds like some kind of Conan character.

‘Oxjeba’ sounds good, mate. I’d use that. Mage Oxjeba, maybe? At the moment I only write shorter pieces shorthand, and so far it’s worked. I like the semi-editing thing that goes on when I’m typing things up. Plus, for some reason I’m able to write faster and more productively, or so it seems! And I like that actual act of doing it.I suppose it’s each to their own. Nik.

I hand wrote Unrequited and get what you mean about the ‘editing in transmission’ thing. 🙂 These days I’m more of a hack and slay guy with the editing. Delete key/thesaurus/fag .Hmmm. Mage Oxjeba…that does have quite the ring to it. Don’t be surprised if he crops up somewhere, probably in a puff of purple smoke. ;)Just got boring bnefvy now. Not much you can do with that!

Is that a sneaky packet of cigarettes I see under your notebook in the first picture? it is, isn’t it? I posted pictures on my site of my writing desk, only realising after the fact that there are far too many empty beer cans in shot for respectability…

I’ll look out for it, JB!Jenn, hmm, maybe…I thought your workspace looked rather cool actually. Was there not a bottle of wine on your desk as well? All good decoration!Nik
