World Book Day Photos

Some pics (taken by Hannah Young) of Thursday’s reading.

And I want also to say a quick thanks to those Twitter friends of mine who gave me lots of words of support when I was grumbling the other day. Writing is hard, as are the other bits that go along with it, and kind words can go a long way to to turning a grumbling writer into a cheery one.

  1. I am with you on the writing is hard… sometimes. I spent the whole day yesterday in displacement activity (arguing on-line about Jade Goody!) instead of writing… cos yesterday writing felt like work…But some days the writing feels like fun,,, remember those days too.D

  2. Great photos, great specs, great epaulettes! And you’re right, writerly support is sooo important, on down days and up days:-)

  3. Douglas, I followed that discussion avidly! It was great reading.Writing is hard sometimes, true – life gets difficult with all the other things that go along with doing it seriously; if only the writing was the only tough bit. You know? And you’re truly right – I will remember the good days (and how much I love it).Lane, thank you! You approve of my chosen uniform then? You’re right – support’s so hugely important. Probably more than I realised.I can feel a blog post/rant combo coming on…Nik ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. PS there are millions more blog templates for Blogger if you just do a search for “blogger templates”, people designing beautiful things. There was one that was all chocolates… ahh, so much time can be wasted “upgrading” blogs and sites!

  5. Thanks T! Glad you approve. You know I was soooo tempted to google and play and mess about with templates, but I resisted! I was good! And kept this simple so I didn’t avoid work for too long, but in the future…Nik
