        All’s well in South Africa.
It’s funny when people hear Africa, they think we have lions and elephants running around in our back-yard!
May I ask what inspired/s you to write?

        Abby

  2. Nik, I have taken a photograph of your book for my latest blog post, entitled ‘Dear Reader..’ (lesleyjjackson.wordpress.com.) I thought it was the perfect one to use but maybe I need to have your permission to use it? Please let me know if you are happy with it being there. If not, I will gladly change it straight away.

    • Hi Leslie – nope, no permission needed at all. I’m thrilled you wanted to use it. (If you did want to help, all I’d ask you to do if you wanted, would be to review it or rate it over at your blog or amazon or Goodreads or wherever you felt suitable.) Thanks for using it! That makes me happy!

  3. Hi Abby – that sounds wonderful! Lots of things inspire me to write. People mostly, I think, good and bad!

  4. Thank you! I’m happy to rate and review the book. I’ve read it several times over. Consider it done.

  5. Hi Nik,
I’ve been invited to take part in a writing process blog tour which lets writers share the way they write. The intention? So we can all learn from each other.
Now I am looking for three writers to pass it onto. Would you like to take part? It’s good publicity for your blog, and when I’ve taken pat in this kind of thing before I’ve found it brings me new followers. As writers we are all curious about how other writers do it. Are there tricks of the trade I don’t know, are there secrets that would help me be a better writer, magical writing exercises, foolproof computer software?
I was nominated by Andrea Stephenson at Harvesting Hecate. Read about her writing process here.

    http://harvestinghecate.wordpress.com/2014/04/06/writing-process-blog-hop/#comments

Once you are nominated, you supply the person who nominated you with a short bio about yourself. They then post about their own writing process with a link to the person’s post who nominated them, plus your bio and a link to your blog.
When you post, you answer the 4 questions about your writing process, and nominate three other writers. And so it gets passed on. You can e-mail your bio to me at sdan2364@btinternet.com
I will post about my writing process on April 14th, so you can then post yours any time after that date.
I hope you want to take part. Please let me knew ASAP if you are interested.
    Regards
    Sandra

    • Hi there Sandra, thanks so much for thinking of me. To be honest, I’m a little bit snowed under at the moment with my own blog tour bits (and promotion for my new book) so I’ll struggle to post anything that’s not already scheduled here for a while. That said, I’d be more than happy to answer any questions you might have on writing process (or even write something for your website on the subject) — if that’s of use/interest let me know. You can contact me via the form on this page http://nikperring.com/editing-2/ – thanks again! Nik.

  6. Hi Nik. A friend leant me Freaks, which I enjoyed very much. (The same friend is also responsible for referring me here. She’s very much in your corner!) I’m looking forward to reading and enjoying more of your work!
    Best wishes from Australia! Tom.

    • Hey Tom – thanks for this – great to meet you here. And thanks for the kind words – they’re always appreciated! All the best with your writing too!
