Wowsers!

Just finished a three thousand word story. I’d had it in my head, kind of, for a week or two. Didn’t expect it to be like this though, or to write it in one go. Sheesh.

I could do with a cool gin now. But I can’t. Bl***y antibiotics.

That’s the plan, Anne! ;)Pretty much, Lane. I did stop for small breaks to be fair, but it was pretty much three hours of solid graft. And I’m about to read over it for the first time – I wonder if it’ll be any good.Nik

Wow,I am so impressed! Isn't it totally amazing when it all splurges out in one go, in one intense splat? (Sorry, my powers of description have left me!). Sorry you can't have gin (I had a birthday G&T last night, love it!) but as my meditation teacher would say, just notice your reaction and how you are feeling. Ah, I just saw that this was yesterday, so you've probably felt that feeling and are feeling other feelings. I hope one of them is still delight at the story you wrote!….Talk about rambling….

Oh I do like a good story splat, Tania! Couldn’t have put it better myself. It’s not a bad story (at least it won’t be when I’ve finished with it). I hope. You’re actually partly responsible for it as well – it features a slightly older Sarah from the skipping rhyme story you read…N

check you! it’s like a wave isn’t it? – well, i think it is. It kicks around in your head and then just can’t be contained anymore. Three grand, eh? – you must be exhausted! damn those pills.

Hullo again, Jo. Strangely enough, I’m not normally one to let ideas bubble and simmer; usually they go straight onto the page. And yup, it did leave me pretty tired (and in need of gin!), but really satisfied and relieved too, to be able to write something at least half decent after feeling so rotten. Only a couple more days on those pills to go, so back to my best soon. I hope.Nik
